Ambassador Tu-lek of Vector had never had such a rough trip.

He had been assigned to this god-forsaken land in replacement of his elder,
Va-graan, who died of "livestock accidents" which, after Tu-lek's trip
through the Jungle, must have meant he wasn't watching his back one day and
one of these reptilian beasts made a meal of him.

He was thankful, therefore, for the guide the Reptites had supplied. With
this guide, whom Tu-lek merely refered to as "Friday" (the Reptite had not
given a name) Tu-lek had seen more sights than he did when he left Vector,
having been recently occupied by the Moogles. It had taken him this long to
reach here, and, remembering the Reptite's long history with the Moogles,
was somewhat afraid of their reaction to the new alliance.

Friday led him up a winding staircase up a sandstone plateau. He gazed at
the Jungle below. A loud reptilian bellow was heard meaning one of the
"Great Lizards" had just caught itself a meal. He shuddered. He had already
dealt with a large pack of those and the fact they used a organized attack
to rival any of Vector's War Tactics didn't comfort him in the least. His
Guide knew of ways to get away, however, and all he lost on that day was
his Chocobo. He sighed. He could still hear it's screeches of pain among
the beasts' snarling.

Finally, they were at the top of the plateau. Tu-lek stood, shocked. At
first he thought he had seen a gigantic, reptilian poltergiest. Not only
the gargantuan jaws that served as the entrance to the keep, but the many
different reptilian skulls that made up the walls of the keep, along with
many gigantic thigh bones that somehow managed to fit together.

He examined the Tyrano Lair deeper. No turbos.

He had remembered reading old books about the Legendary Tyrano Fortress
that
struck from underneith, showering an unsuspecting city with an entire army.
By the time even the most well defended city knew what was going on, they
had already slain half the army.

But they weren't here. He looked at Friday.

Friday, almost as if he read his mind, merely grunted,

"No use. They rotted away."

Tu-lek sighed. There went the highlight of his stay here. THey walked
through the gaping jaws of the fortress.

If Tu-lek was spooked before, now he was completely shocked. Nor sooner had
they walked through the jaws of the fortress had they shut the sunlight
out, limiting the light to dim torches that gave off a sickly green flame.
As his eyes finally adjusted to the darkness he gazed at the walls. More
bones. But these weren't the actual walls. These were skeletons of beasts
implanted in the walls, in all sorts of action poses. He saw all sorts of
strange creatures he never had seen living, fish, reptiles, insects...
Almost a history of the planet's life. He also noted that gems were placed
in the eyesockets of the skeletons. The Reptites took great pride in their
bone artwork.

After getting through the initial walkway, Tu-lek suddenly found himself in
a bustling metropolis. He was in a market. All sorts of travelling
merchants peddled their wares, many out of stock quite soon. These people
loved imports. As Friday led him through the internal city he felt a
suddenly hot rush of air. Beside him stood, held to the wall, one of the
beasts that took his chocobo. Or something of the same species. He
shuddered that such things were used as mounts and run up to Friday.

They slowly moved up the fortress. Occasionally they came out onto a
balcony, only for Tu-lek to gasp at the Reptite's work on the surrounding
mountain range. Once again, Bones. Gigantic Skulls bursting from the rock.

Tu-lek sighed. This place would take some REAL getting used to.

Friday grabbed him and lead him through another great set of Jaws. He was
in
a large chamber.

The beasts on the walls here were somewhat more recent. He saw several of
the beasts that took his chocobo piling onto a great beast with a long
neck. A great reptilian skinned carpent was under his feet. Before him was
a fantastic throne of bones, that once again outdid anything he had seen
before. On the throne sat the Ruler of the Reptites, Ussracts.

He rapped his fingers on the railing of the throne.

"State your businesss here." he said in a slurred tone.

"I.. I am the new Vectorian ambassador." stuttered Tu-lek.

Ussracts nodded.

"Accomidationsss will be made for you shortly." he grunted. "Anything
elsss?"

Tu-lek blinked. Best to say it now, he thought.

"Vector has aligned itself with the Moogles, and offered them sanctuary."
he
said.

Ussracts nodded.

"Keep them away from here. We have no true businesss with the outside
world."

Tu-lek blinked. What? Had the books he read on these people been wrong?

Friday bowed to Ussracts and left. Two soldiers directed him to his
chambers, which were of course lined with the skeletal story of three human
warriors and a mammoth.

(Don't get too excited yet. There's more coming)
