Ash was lying on a bed, clothed only in a towel. He had just taken an a
bath. He was massaging his knuckles into his eyes. He couldn't believe
this was happening again.
There was a knock at the door. He gathered his towel around him and
answered the door.
	Chærií stood there.
"We're having a meeting in ten minutes. Dinner will be served there, if
you're hungry." She glanced down, and with a smirk added, "You might
want to wear something a *little* more conservative than that."
                             * * *

Everyone was stuffed. With as many casualties as Toroia had had, there
was more than enough food for the few survivors.
"So if we get that book, you can send me home?" Ash asked, picking his
teeth with a toothpick.
"Why don't you shut up already?!" yelled Jeala, suddenly lively after
the crushed flatness of her despair, "a lot of people, people we cared
about, died so that we could summon the legendary hero to save us, and
instead we get you!"
"Screw that, sister! I didn't agree to come here! I was just minding my
own business when you people yanked me out of my home and dumped me
here!" he replied, riled.
"QUIET, both of you!" exclaimed Chærií, acting as the voice of reason.
"Yes, Ash, if we get the book I'll send you home, just like you want."
"Good." he said, and went back to picking his teeth, pointedly avoiding
looking at Jeala.
"Hmph," scoffed Jeala. "Thats great for you, but what us? Getting the
book wont help us get rid of these Pikachu!"
"Don't be so sure of that," interrupted Chærií. "The Necronomicon ex
Mortis is an ancient, evil script. It deals with all sorts of dank and
wicked subject matter. Im sure that a creature as loathesome and hateful
and vile as Pikachu and its kind will be dealt with in the pages of the
Necronomicon."
"Then it's settled," Ash interjected. "Tomorrow, We'll start searching
for the book. We get the book, I go home, you get rid of these monsters,
we all win. Now I'm going to get some fresh air."
With that, Ash got up from his chair and left the room.
Looking around, Chærií noticed that Jeala had reentered her shell of
despair.
"Oh dear," she mentioned and followed Ash out of the room.

To be continued...
