Okay, some of you might remember about the alternate world reptites who
had an evil general who was a human looking reptite named Vincent. This
is a continuation of his story, not the Vincent who Space was writing
for, last I checked. If anyone has the post where I introduce evil
vincent, Id appreciate it if you sent it to me. :)

[Scene: A sealed-off cave near the site of a major battle in MW2.]

"Hells, where am I?" a rusty silibant voice inquired.
Vincent, Powerful Reptite Sorceror Lord, sat up naked in a pile of
dust. After staring uncomprehending at the dust, he realized that it
was the decayed remnants of his clothing.
Suddenly remembering how had gotten to this place, he checked the arrow
wound on his back and chest. They had closed, leaving only greenish
scar tissue. He looked about for the few personal effects that wouldn't
have rotted in the time he was asleep. He found some gold in a pile
where the pouch had landed, and after a few moments more, he found his
ceremonial dagger. Nearly 3 feet long and razor sharp, it was more of a
short sword than a dagger. Its curved blade was made of a jet black
metal unknown on earth, and would cut through steel. Vincent tested the
edge with a predatory grin, exposing canines and incisors that looked
distinctly inhuman. He held the blade, turning it this way and that, as
the blade glinted in the sunlight.
	"...Sunlight?"
Vincent craned his neck up and saw a thin beam of sunlight peeking
through the ceiling of the immense cave he found himself in. Straining
his ears, he could hear human voices, although he didn't understand what
they were saying. Reaching out with his powers to read the minds of the
humans, Vincent had a very unsettling sensation, akin to stepping up
onto a step that wasn't as high as you thought it was and falling on
your face.
"Hmmm... My powers seem diminished." Realizing that the block between
the dimensional bubble where his compatriots had been sealed off and
this world was keeping the majority of his power away, Vincent felt his
stomache sink. He would have to learn to draw power from this planet.
That would take time.
Still, Vincent had the power to reach out and read the minds of the two
humans digging into the cave. The first thing he did was absorb the
language. After that, he perused their simple commoner minds like a
library. This place was known as Barent or some similar name. The
battle he was injured at took place "a long time ago" - he couldn't find
a more specific date. These two were amateur treasure hunters, with no
idea the cave they had stumbled on was so huge. Their names were Vicks
and Wedge. Wedge hated his wife. Vicks had a necklace he planned to
give to his girl tonight. Wedge's son, Piette, had been killed in a
mining accident two years ago. Biggs liked hamburgers with extra mayo.
Vincent stood there for several minutes perusing the thoughts of the
humans. He came up with a plan.
Hiding behind a large Stalactite, he reached out with his power and
collapsed the ground under the humans' feet. The slid down the wall and
stood up.
"Holy shit," exclaimed Vicks, "Wilya look at this place?! Theres' gotta
be lotsa treasure here!"
"Chill, man!" replied Wedge, who was rubbing a fresh bump on his head.
"I can't even hear myself THINK with the way you blabber on."
Biggs stumbled upon the pile of gold pieces Vincent had left as bait in
his trap. He scooped them up and put them in his pocket.
Exitedly, Vicks said "Dude! Lets split up and look for more gold!"
When they were around fifteen paces apart, Vincent silently left his
hiding place. Running as swiftly and as silently as a cat, he ran past
Wedge and slit the man's throat. A high-pitched gurgling cry escaped
Wedge as he vainly tried to stop the flow of blood with his hands. As
Wedge died, Vincent stole his life force and added it to his weakened
magic power.
Hearing Wedge's dying sounds, Vicks got scared. "Wedge?! WEDGE?!
Where are you man?? This isn't funny! You're scaring me, man! WEDGE!
WE--"
What silenced Vicks yells was the tip of Vincent's knife portruding
from the right side of his chest, right under the sternum. Both Vincent
and Vicks stood there, frozen in time for a moment. Vincent had snuck up
behind Vicks and stabbed him in the back. Fleeting thoughts of his
girlfriend sped through Vicks mind as Vincent felt the quiver of Vicks'
pierced heart as it attemted to beat a few last times. As Vicks died,
Vincent was sure to steal his life force to repower his magic.
Vincent quickly stole the least bloodied parts of their clothing and
began looking through their belongings, when he realized he was hungry.
The two had brought no food, their hometown was close. He looked at the
corpses and his mouth watered. He felt no revulsion as be cut off some
of Wedge's bicep and began to eat. He wasn't human, so this wasn't
cannibalism, not that cannibalism would have bothered him. He had a
mission, and would do whatever it took to survive and accomplish that
mission.

                                 * * *

After he had eaten his fill, he headed for the exit. As he reached the
base of the wall, he stopped. A voice whispered to him, so faint that
the words escaped him but the meaning didn't. Without hesitation, he
headed not out of the cave, but deeper into it. The answer to his
dilemma was here. What he needed was here.
	Immense power was here.

To be continued...
(I know where Im taking this, so please don't do anything with this
character yet.)
