Night was closing in on the cold town of Narshe. "Before we can do anything,
said Vincent Valintine, "We'll need to take cover somewhere, or else we'll
freeze to death."
"But what about the moogles? If they find us, they'll slaughter us!"
"I think our best bet is to hide in one of the houses. They won't go
back to a place where they think everyone is already dead. Now let's take
cover before they spot us."
Kat and Vincent ducked into a nearby item shop. The floor and walls
were bloody, and there were a few human bones scattered about, but Kat did
her best not to let herself become ill at the sight. Vince hopped over the
counter and grabbed two sleeping bags and a tent. "We can't light the
fireplace for heat, because the moogles might notice the smoke. So, we'll
have to camp out here. Then in the morning we can look for someone who can
repair the porno trigger," said Vince.
"Sounds good to me," said Kat, "But I think we should take turns
sleeping, in case the moogles find us."
"That's not necessary," said Vince, "I can go without sleep."
"Alright, if you really don't mind," said Kat. Vince nodded in responce.

Kat tried her best to fall asleep, but she her mind was racing with many
different concerns. "Vince," she said, "I've been thinking. People
normally only have the chance to learn from the past and change the future.
But we have the rare opportunity to actually change the past. I mean,
millions of humans, moogles, mystics, and others have died in these awful
wars. Here we are at the beginning of it all. I mean, if we could
assasinate Mog or something, we could stop all of it. Should we try to do
something like that now that we have the chance."
"It doesn't matter to me," said Vince, "It's your world, not mine. But
keep in mind that anything we do now could radically alter your own time.
You might never even be born. Maybe there would be no Moogle Wars, but
there'd probably be other wars. Or maybe one of Mog's associates would
become vengeful because of the assasination, and wage an even bloodier Moogle
War. But like I said, it's your call. I really don't care."
Kat thought about what Vincent said, and decided that it would probably
be best to try not to alter history in any significant way. She started to
feel better about things, and was able to fall asleep.

To be continued...
