Subj: [ffml] [MW] Them Southvale blues... Date: 00-07-05 18:43:19 EDT From: darklord@compusmart.ab.ca (His Dark Lordship) Reply-to: ffml@egroups.com To: ffml@egroups.com (ffml) Turan sat at the makeshift throne they had constructed at Southvale for him. He sighed. He was here to fight a war, not be pampered with regality. His attitude had moved to a more 'straight to business' as soon as he learned of the Human's advance. He had sent a force of one thousand, comprised of 800 Moogles and 200 Magitek armours, to test out this "Tim" fellow's defenses at the now lost Heil Keep. He swore to himself under his breath. Rumours of "the Return of Bacca" and other assorted bullshit had begun to circulate among the soldiers. Morale was starting to drop. He needed a booster. He knew what he had to do, and it pained him to do it. He knew that this "Tim" fellow was indeed on a role. A few "contacts" he had in the human force led him to believe that Tim was the heart and soul of the Doman force at this point, and he also knew that his army, in this state, would lose Doma Castle if Tim marched. Which lead him to his decisions. He finished writing the letter to the commander in Doma Castle, sealed it and placed it in the talons of a carrier pidgeon. He sighed. That was the first phase of his plan. He then sat back at his throne. He heard three knocks on the door. He smiled. Now came phase two. The guards opened the door and the figure strolled in. Clad head to toe in black, with a pair of razor sharp daggers on either side. Strapped to his back was a light crossbow with a rather fancy scope on it. Some silver hair dangled from behind his mask. Subj: [ffml] [MW] The Doman brigade Date: 00-07-05 18:42:46 EDT From: darklord@compusmart.ab.ca (His Dark Lordship) Reply-to: ffml@egroups.com To: ffml@egroups.com (ffml) Commander Kupop read the letter a few times. "We're supposed to abandon our post!?!" he growled. "What does it say!?!" asked Commander Kururu. Kupop handed the letter to him. Commanders of Doma, Due to the sudden rise in the Human's morale, we are being forced to conduct in some less than honourable aspects of warfare. As you know, I ask more than most would of my soldiers, and I will expect the ultimate sacrifice from many of your men in short time, if operation Big Black Cock is going to work. Your first duty is to make use of the four kegs that will be arriving in a few days. In this is a fast acting plague that we have extracted from Rat corpses. You will apply this fluid to any water sources in the area and in the city. Any rats in the city will also be exterminated and their flesh used to infect the water. The second duty is to handpick about two thousand soldiers willing to die for our eventual victory. While the rest of the population will slip back to Southvale during the night, these men will stand guard in the castle. The citidel, as I understand, is armed with enough cannons to last a hefty seige, and you also have in your possession some bolt throwers that can be modified to strike objects in the air, such as the Doman's dragons. These two thousand troops will stand at Doma and fight to the end. They will make it look like this place is too valuable for us to lose. THis will of course help determine the humans and will cause their morale to shatter when the army is infested with the plague. I of course expect your full co-operation in this. I will expect to hear back from you with the names of the selected soldiers so I may honour their names and immortalize them, as one would for any man to give his life for his country. I am currently meeting with the other aspect of Operation Big Black Cock, which involves removing the human's virtual leader, Tim.. Sincerly, His Royal Highness, Turan Kururu lowered the letter. "Man..." Kupop sighed. "It's an ingenious idea, yes, but it's not gonna be easy to tell two thousand men that they're going to die." Kururu nodded. For the longest time, the two sat silent. "I'll handle half of them." Kururu said finally. Kupop nodded. "Thank you." -- The eternal lord of darkness...
