Mog sat at his desk. The years were suddenly starting to catch up on him.
The continual stress coming from Turan was obviously getting to him, not to
mention his recolection that his time was near.

He looked over the records. The troops has returned from Doma, finally. One
of Mog's old Generals, Kuroso, had assumed governorship of the new state.
Mog had, in turned, shipped a lot of the Moogle Civilian population to
there, hoping to spread the Moogle's seed to new boundries.

He looked to Umaro, the great Yeti, standing at the door, silently. His
rock, in a way. Umaro would stand true to Mog's orders to the last moment.

Denar had been spotted sending out a carrier pidgeon. Due to Mog's
increasing lack of trust in him, a sniper had shot that Pidgeon down. The
letter verified Mog's suspicions. Denar, so it seemed, was using him.

Doctor Kefka had been absent for some time, leaving his less insane
assitant. However, the Magitek devices were in working order.

Mog made sure of all this himself, primarally because he anticipated an
attack. Something in his old age told him that a felling blow was ready to
strike and he had to set it so that the Moogles could survive it.

His anticipation held true when the cities' alarm went off.

* * * * * * *

The defenses set, Vector was ready to deter a Figaro attack.

At least, the Moogles and Vectorians had expected a Figaro attack.

Mog put down the spyglass.

"Reptites..." he said.

"Reptites..." grumbled Mozgu, a MoogleBoar general.

Mog put the spyglass back up.

"There's only, at a guess, four thousand of them. Either the Reptites think
this will be easy pickings or they have inside information on the city."

"So what will we bet on."

"The latter. Always try to stop the worst case scenario. It's usually those
that happen in war."

"So what's your plan, leige?"

"We send about 7000 troops, mixed. Make it look orderly though. That will
give the Reptites an impression of depleted forces. Keep the rest guarding
all the small openings in the city. They can't get in in large numbers, so
most likely they'll be sending a unit of about 4 to sneak in and open the
gate."

"Why only four?"

"Reptites are huge. Almost as big as an Ork, and Orks can easily double a
human in bodyweight. Against regular Moogles they are like stone statues.
And they're not stupid, either."

Mozgu nodded.

"Tell the bait force that if things begin to look bad, fall back. The city
defense will cover them. I'd rather have as close to a full legion in here
as possible for when get at the gates."

Mozgu nodded.

"Aye aye, sir."

He ran off.

Mog stared at the Reptite force coldly. He had always felt his end would
come from a Human. First he felt it would be Kefka, then General Alan, then
Bacca, then Cyan. He never expected to come back to the great enemies he'd
made ages ago...

Up next: The battle.

"And if our dreams sometimes come true, then what of our nightmares?"
