The black wind howled through the dark hallway.

In the shrine, the great tomb lay, motionless, the dust settled. Four
priests, clad in the palest of feathers, stood around it.

Thier green scales reflected the moonlight as they slowly danced around the
great coffin.

Their service was complete. They had been prepared for this moment for a
long time.

The first Reptite screeched, and lept atop the tomb. Straddling it, he took
a curved obsidian dagger, and pierced it into his chest, hitting the proper
vien. Blood poured out of him, coving the feathers. As he still bled, as if
in a trance, he took a conch shell filled with a bubling liquid and
swallowed it whole. Slowly, he fell forward onto the grave, and faded away.
Red goo flowed into the rob, making the once pale feathers red.

The other three danced about, doing the same, eventually.

Standing in the back, in the shadows, stood Rktktos, the Grey. He sat
silent. He trained those students so they would sacrifice themselves this
very day. It was part of destiny. They knew it, as did he.

After the last one had dyed (bad pun) his feathers, Rktktos strolled
forward. Placing his hands on the wettened cloaks, he let out a bellowing
roar that could have wakened the globe, but the noise did not pass out of
the temple. As he roared, the cloaks transformed to dust.

Two more priests emerged from the corners of the room, each holding a sickly
green candleabra hoisted on a brass pole. Rktktos steped back. And the
three stood, waiting.

And the lid of the great Tomb slowly faded away, turning to the finest of
sand.

Slowly, out of the coffin rose a great, hulking shape. The three horned face
of destrustion and the muscles of the gods. The form stood silently beside
the grave.

And then, from the grave rose another figure. A large Reptite, with a single
horn on his snout. Muscles crossed his body, and his red eyes were alert.

Two more priests came forth, and placed ancients robes on each.

The Reptite nodded to Rktktos, who in turn nodded and strolled away, to
deeper within the temple.

The cerimony was over.

"Might I have the names of the priests who gave their spirits so I could
rise again?" asked the Reptite. The hulking figure still remained silent.

One of the candleabra bearing priests nodded.

"Solet, Terratos, Blauth and Fores."

"Carve their names into the grave. They are forever remembered."

The priest did so.

The other priest stepped up.

"Is there anything else we can get ye, oh great Lord?"

The figure looked at him.

"Something to eat. And spare the formalities. You shall know me as Azala."

The hulking figure grunted.

"Aye, and my bodyguard, Nizbel."

"At your service." grunted Nizbel.

The priest nodded, and then set off to aquire a meal for the long dead
king.

As the other priest strolled off, Azala stretched.

"Rather interesting, how some things change, yet others remain the same?"

"Aye Azala. This temple is the same as we built it."

"Although it's purpose is different." sighed Azala. "I did not request
diefacation. This temple was to Sulak, the Lizard of the Sun, not to me."

"You are the child of the sun, Azala."

"Or so they think." grumbled Azala. "But, I guess I should take advantage of
being alive while I can, hmm?"

Nizbel merely chuckled.

Azala looked around the room. He had an uncontrollable urge to test out his
old powers, the telekenesis he was gifted with, at the point of horror.

He stared at the candle. His mind focuses on it.

And it went out.

Focusing on it again, slowly, the wicks regained their sickly green flame.

"That doesn't do them justice." chuckled Nizbel.

"At least they're still there. I'm sure I'll be able to test them to the
fullest in the Giant's Claw."

"Giant's Claw!?!" yelped a priest.

Azala nodded.

"Aye, Lord,"

"Azala"

"Azala, that is an accursed cavern."

"Is it now? It was perfectly fine the last time I was in there."

"That was 580 years ago." corrected the priest. "A Daemon moved in there
awhile back."

A flame flew across Azala's eye.

"He won't be in there for long."
