[This is an EVIL Vincent post]

[Id like to note that this bit takes place BEFORE
evil Vincent heads to Earth and meets up with
Universal Amalgamated Conglomerated Industries
International Limited (UACIIL) but after "Skill,
Power, and a Dash of Salt."]

Vincent walked towards the Gear Hangar, but on a
whim took a side passage marked "Confiscatum." He
knew this was where the Humans had stored all the
material siezed from his people during the ancient
war, but nothing there could be of value to him...
or could it?

He opened the door and it took a few seconds to
realize what he was seeing. Surrounded by millenia
of dust and decayed artifacts was his personal
suit of armor. Made of pure steel and enameled
green with black trim, it was forged specifically
for him and fit him like a glove. White bone
spikes stuck out at certain points, and it had a
scabbard for his dagger. A dark green cape made
of woven kevlar fibers hung from the back.

Vincent hurriedly put the armor on. With its fine
crafting and easy-to-manage systems of clasps and
straps, it took less that twenty minutes. Once he
had it on, he barely noticed it -- it didn't
hamper his movement at all. This would come in
handy.

Vincent decided to check the room for anything
that might come in useful, and he wasn't
disappointed.

Under a pile of useless material, he found an
early gate generation device. "This might just be
the thing I need to bring my master through."

After activating it, he set the device, which was
little larger than his hand and rectangular in
shape, upon the floor and waited for the gate to
appear. A man-sized glowing portal opened in front
of him. Outlined in a circle of green light was...
The back of the room?

"Hmmm..." Vincent murmured as he thought... And
then chuckled when he realized what had happened.
He had accessed a paralell dimension, A
near-identical dimension to his own. Of course it
would look the same.

"Don't want 'same'" he said to no one in
particular.

He stuck his hand into the gate before he realized
it was a visual display only -- to actually open
the gate would take another command.

He picked up the device and began to cycle through
it. "Hmmm..."

Looking at the display, he saw the following:
"---Gate Device Status---
 GR-Loc: X.001 Y.000 Z00.1
 CurrDim: #12a-322w-z87721
 GateDim: #12a-322w-z87743
 Ex'dRng: 0.1x10^-99%
 PowerRM: 9998
 --- GateDim Readings ---
 EnvMatc: 100%err<.001
 ProbCls: 100%
 PhysLaw: 99.99%
 TachynF: 100%
 DevFact: 1x10^-87%

 Command?(Search/Memory/Random/Details/More)"

Vincent stood looking at the readout for a few
minutes, deciphering the cryptic readings. He
finally figured most of them out. GR-Loc was the
devices location relative to the gate.

CurrDim and GateDim refered to the "Addresses" of
the dimension the device was in and the dimension
on the other side of the gate. Ex'dRng was how
many dimensions the device had been to. PowerRM
was how much energy it had left.

EnvMatc was how similar to this dimension the Gate
Dimension. ProbCLS was short for Probability
Cluster -- an abstract term meaning "How likely
was the gate dimension." Going to a dimension
rated at anything less than 100% was risking
having that dimension ceasing to exist while you
were in it -- that wouldn't be good.

PhysLaw was a measurement of how similar the
physical laws of the gate dimension were, gravity,
acceleration, and so on.

TachynF was Tachyon flow, or the flow of time
relative to this dimension.

DevFact was Deviation factor. Usually, dimensions
came into being when events could take several
different courses. The more minor the event was
to the current state of the world, the smaller the
DevFact would be. He knew that DevFact could
decrease as time went on and the event became less
important. When DevFact between two dimensions
became zero, the two merged.

Vincent decided it was time to find a dimension
where he could get some serious firepower...
