A single pathway rose above the liquid fire, one cut of the blackest basalt, that seemed to stretch on for eternity. Beyond this, far beyond, the fiery streams and pools became rivers that then lead to a great ocean of fire, and there, far beyond, a trio of great jagged mountains rose above the endless sea. At the top of the greatest of these mountains was a collossal black castle. This was the home to the demon goddess Meimi. Within the palace orbs of energy provided the only present light, they hovered along the ceilings and within sconces, throwing multihued illumination onto the stark blackness of the stones. Frightened demons and imps scuttled softly between corridors, fearing the annoyance of their mistress. And, at the deepest center of the palace was what could pass as a throne room. A single onyx throne was placed against a wall, and scattered before it was a multitude of large hovering shallow bowls filled with shimmering oily water, the goddess' eyes on the proceedings of mortals. She herself was the small woman, her hair a lush honey-blonde pulled up in draping curls, face pale and beautiful, eyes the deepest crimson...a pretty girl, but cold, heartless, and cruel. Her coral lips curled with sadistic pleasure as a tall, slender figure materialized before her. The demoness slid fluidly off her throne to drape her arms around the tall figure, running a finger under the figure's jaw. She gave a soft chuckle as the other materialized completely and nearly recoiled in disgust. "Oh, how WONDERFUL it is to see my favorite pawn! Didn't you miss me, my dear?" Cold green eyes glared at the demoness, sheer hatred only adding to the woman's delight. A low, gender-ambiguous voice rose from the visitor. "Not at all, Meimi. What do you want now?" The demoness laughed and drifted back to her throne, amusement lighting her face. "Oh, I'm so BORED, Faris, and you've always been the most amusing pawn I've had to play with. There's a war going on, I want you to play for a bit there. Yes, I know it's almost over, but it would be SO nice to watch my favorite toy at play." The green-eyed woman in men's clothing growled and kicked over a scrying pool. "$#!T, Meimi! I'm NOT going to go through with this anymore! It's been over between us since I won your last game!" "Oh no, my dear...just amuse me a little," Meimi said, chuckling. She raised her hand and the image of a green-haired queen appeared hovering in the air, producing a gasp from her pawn. "This is your girlfriend, isn't it? That diminuitive little bitch from Karnak...what's her name? Oh, it doesn't matter...Just do what I want and I'll let her and your sister live. Don't, and they both die and I will own their souls. Understand, my dear?" Faris hung her head, looking away, long strands of purple hair falling to hide her face from veiw. "Yllesia's only my closest friend...we've never gone further than that. But, alright, what's the first command...?" *** Yllesia slept, nestled close to her friend. It was when Faris moved that the woman awakened, and so sat up from the bed-roll as her comrade silently manuevered free of the camp to venture out. Taking her cue, the little queen brought out a crossbow and followed close behind, stopping once the taller woman raised her hand to signal a halt. As she waited, Faris entered a circle of bushes. The purple-haired pirate stood straight and blinked in surprise as her emerald eyes fell on a peculiar sight. Before her, in a little clearing lay a group of drunken orcs, with a single human woman among them. , she thought as she picked her way over to the prone woman, attempting to wake her up. As the woman's eyes opened, Faris leaned close, her voice softened so as to avoid aggravating a hangover. "Hey, are you the dragoon Jaana?" (okay, so it's late, I can't come up with any more o.x) Subj: [ffml] [MW] The Morning After... Date: 98-10-20 02:24:41 EDT From: jaana@inet-1.com (Ryuukishi Jaana) A blinding light pierced through Jaana's eyes, straight through, it seemed, to the back of her skull. She winced. A number of sensations began assailing her, all magnified to what seemed like one thousand times their normal intensity. Jaana moaned. She sat up, slowly, eyes squinting, trying to orient herself to her surroundings. "Um....I'm sorry to wake you...." a voice from above her boomed. Jaana cringed at the sound and looked up, trying to identify the speaker. "Who the hell are you?" she croaked, vocal cords not wanting to work properly. A sharp pain shot through her head, as it began to throb in time with her breathing. She lifted a leaden arm up to shield her eyes from the sun. Her body ached all over, and her mouth was *dry*. "Looks like you had one hell of a good night last night." the voice above chuckled. Jaana looked around. She saw, on all sides of her, passed out, half-naked orcs. Her eyes widened in horror. "Good God!!!" a voice inside her head screamed, "What did I do????" Her arms flew up to her chest, checking to see if she was fully clothed. She heaved an enormous sigh of relief to find that her loose-fitting dress seemed to be properly placed and all in one piece, however disheveled. She noticed the bottles strewn across the clearing and the smouldering remains of a large bonfire. She looked up at Faris with a look of complete confusion. "What happened?" she shrieked, her own voice sending waves of pain through her head. The figure chuckled, "I just got here. I'm looking for the Dragoon, Jaana." The orc closest to Jaana rolled over sleepily and pointed to her. "Dat iz Jaana." He let out a big fart and grinned at Jaana. Jaana couldn't hide the growing feeling of horror she was beginning to feel, and Faris laughed outloud when she saw the expression on Jaana's face. "It seems you and the orcs had a pretty good time last night." "Jaana iz a daddie." the orc informed Faris. "A daddy?" Faris questioned, baffled. "Oh god....that's right....." Jaana's eyes widened again, "Sephiroth!" The highlights of the evening were beginning to come back to her. She remembered storming out of the medic's tent and making a beeline to the tavern. There, she had run into several of Drugga's lieutenants who, upon hearing the "joyous news" had brought out the biggest keg of moss liquor they could find, and Jaana had proceeded to drown herself in her sorrows. "Congratulations......I think." "Yea!" the orc grunted, "Congratz!" "I suppose I should go see him....." "Yea! Den comz da best part!" "What's that?" asked Faris. The orc grinned a toothy smile "Da hookerz!" Date: 98-10-21 03:17:08 EDT From: Shinryuu The orc's grin only grew bigger as he leered at her. "Fer da daddie, ah courze!" Her eyes darted to Jaana, wondering breify if the woman was in the same situation she was in. "Say, I'm a daddy too," she said, grinning. "Two spry young boys. Not my own, of course, but I'm the closest thing they have to a paternal figure." "Den we getz ya hookerz too!" the orc exclaimed, almost revelling in the surprised expression that crossed Faris' face. She looked around wildly for a save, and then her thoughts drifted to the woman who hid behind the bushes. Relieved, she gave the signal, beckoning her friend forth. Yllesia stood gracefully and sauntered to her friend, giving the hung-over dragoon and orc a regal curtsy. She looked up at Faris strangely, as if waiting for a signal, and, once she saw that the look was returned in kind, she steadily observed the orc. "Don't be so crude, Faris doesn't NEED a prostitute when he has me," the diminuitive woman stated, doing well to carry out the well-practiced act. The orc stood and reached forth with surprising speed to test the taller woman's gender, then drew back and laughed. Hard. "Dis iz funny..."he" dun feel like a he!" The purple-haired pirate blushed profusedly before responding. "Ah....ahem...yeah...as you can tell, I don't need any hookers...even if I wanted one Ylles would protest-" "Dat's too bad," the orc cut in, quite amused. "Cuz we'z gonna git hookerz fer da daddies anyway." -- Subj: [ffml] Re: [MW] The Morning After... Date: 98-10-22 22:54:42 EDT From: His Dark Lordship "Oh great." muttered Jaana. Faris nodded. "C'mon!" beconed the ork. "Ah'll take ya to the best dood aroun'." Not know what to do, they followed.. They entered a somewhat more sleazy section of the ork camp. The tents all had weird spraypainted images on them, and the ork's version of heavy metal played in the background. The ork lead them to a tent. "'ere ya go.." he said. "Look, really, we don't need-" The ork pushed Jaana through the flaps, and then she screamed. She was staring at a troll. He was wearing coveralls, and a tool belt, and holding a mop. He wore a hat that said "Janit'r pride" "Wot da ya want? 'Sum dakka?" he belched. She looked back towards the outside of the tent. "THIS is your best!?!" she yelled. "Biggest' wang in da camp." said the Ork. She sighed. Somehow she had to get out of this. -- The eternal lord of darkness...
