In one tent, a group of men gathered to hear their lord give out his orders. When all the men had taken a seat on the floor in the command tent, Bacca surveyed their faces and checked for waning resolves. "As you all know, we are fighting this war to save humanity from the evil moogles. They have gathered allies and seek to overcome this army, which is the last chance that humanity has for safety. Therefore we have our work laid out for us." Bacca pointed at the map of the world and begin indicating spots. "The Dark Alliance's armies are north of South Figaro. This huge continent provides us some leeway in how we can engage the enemy. We know now that we can't fight any major battles. We don't have the manpower to instigate such a thing. But we do know this, we can fight an extended, long-term war. We will have reinforcements coming in from Vector every so often and we'll be supplied by airships. All of us together can overcome the enemy, if we are determined." "But sir," spoke up a human commander. "How can we defeat the Dark Alliance? They have more soldiers, more equipment, and better resources then us. I mean, we are like an ant trying to fight a dog." Bacca nodded, but smiled at the man. "More like a wasp against a dog. You see we have mobility, which the dark alliance does not have. The airships can place a sizable number of men at any position to engage the enemy. And if the tide turns, then we pull our men out by the same means. "We have an advantage. We can strike where the enemy is weakest and not be where he is strongest. We'll take to the hills like guerrillas, like the Returners of old. We'll engage the enemy when we hold the advantage. I know from history that even the greatest military machines can be out done by the simplest of foes. They may have monsters that can breathe fire and run over thick trees, but we can appear in one place one day, another place the next. We can dupe the enemy with false troop movements and what not. Do not fear. We will eventually put a stop to Mog and his Dark Alliance, and then we shall all return home. "But first, we need to talk to Mog, and see what his view of this whole war is." It was a bright, warm day in the forests north of South Figaro. The Dark Alliance army was camped in large clearing, each army occupying a different section. The moogle army occupied one section that was exposed to a large open glen that extended out for a few miles. The open stretch of grass seemed unopposing and would not allow a large number of soldier to engage at any one time. It was in this narrow strip of land between the trees that the human army emerged and formed up. Bacca led the whole force. Behind his chocobo was a line of phalanxes, men with huge shields and long spears forming a wall of thorns. Behind the line of phalanxes was a line of medium infantry. They had smaller shields and short swords. They would engage enemy troops in melee combat. Behind the medium infantry were the light infantry, with small shields and long swords. Along with them were the heavy cavalry. The heavy horsemen rode huge armored chocoboes, were armed with lances and shields, and were prepared to charge the enemy at any opportunity. The medium and light cavalry were behind them. In the forest to either side, rangers and dragoons were stationed, keeping the forest clear of enemy troops. It was Bacca's intent that should any enemy forces try to come through the forest to attack thier flank, the rangers and dragoons would stop or delay their advanced. Bacca was certain that the other armies would be unable to come to the moogle's aid in this battle. The moogles immediately stirred as the human army formed up and prepared their forces for the open conflict. But they were surprised when Bacca and two other men came forward, bearing a white flag. Bacca stopped half way between the two armies waited. He turned to Scotts and said, "Now let's see if Mog would like to talk. I hope he does. We got to find out what his intentions are in this war."
