Date: Wed, 12 Aug 1998 00:23:42 -0600 Subject: [ffml] [MW] We're back. From: His Dark Lordship Mog looked at the three troops. "So let me get this straight." he began. "A scouting troop lost to some Frogman!?!" "Y.. yessir," stammered one of the moogles. "Bacca had been sighted in this area. We cannot afford to be losing troops," he said angrily. "Y.. yessir." "You're suspended from command until I say otherwise. Dismissed." Mog then turned to a second general. "Send in a somewhat larger scout group. I wanna see what's in that damn forest." "If I may sir..." stammered the Moogle. "We found a woman in purple robes in those woods." "Woman in Purple, eh?" Mog grinned. "Make the search group a bit larger. We may have what we're looking for." * * * * * * * * Glenn sighed. He had avoided Schala since he had arrived at the camp, due to a quick realization. He felt it necessary to save her, as he felt it would make it up for the blind rage that possessed him four years ago... Fades back to an icy glacier... He had found a way to journey to this time again, for this sole reason. Lucca had lent him the key when she came to visit. He had taken this opportunity. * * * * * The long, blue hair of the dark mage flowed in the icy wind. His gigantic, bloody scythe dripped with Moonlight. The Magus, stood there, proud as ever. "I never believed we would ever end our affair with the loss of the key." "Aye, Magus. I vowed to avenge Cyrus, and that I shalt do, lest ye cleave my head off." said Glenn. A huge blast of dark energy erupted from Magus' hand, knocking Glenn back a few feet. "Bah! You are a simple mortal. Give it up!" "Ye art forgetting one thing, Sir Magus." chuckled Glenn as he covered the open wound. "And that would be?" asked Magus. "This, it 'tis the Masamune. It absorbs and amplifies Magic." Magus stepped back. "Bullshit." he said. Glenn simply stepped forward. "I am ready this time." A pyramid of dark energy surrounded Glenn. "Oh really?" chuckled Magus. Glenn pointed the Masamune at an edge of it, pushed it through, and the whole barrier got absorbed into it. "Truly." Glenn pointed the blade at Magus, and a long, dark beam shot from it's tips. Magus flew back a few feet. "Dammit.. what have you done to the Masamune?" he gasped. "'tis nothing, really." said Glenn. With that, he drove the Masamune right into Magus' chest. * * * * * * * * He often wondered if it had been necessary. Was it part of his knight code to seek vengeance? Not at all. It was his own beliefs getting into the way. His own rage. Since then, he seemed to absorb Magus' energy and powers. He was regarded as a "dark knight" for the waves he shot from his blade. The Masamune itself took a whole new look, from the silver blade it had turned to a dark color with a silver texture. He had taken it upon himself to find the maiden Schala, and this he had done. He sipped his tankard of ale, when he notice the soldier's attention were turned to the door. He turned about. "Ah, so you are the one that saved Schala." said the figure. "Many thanks. I am Bacca, high lord of all that kicks ass." "I find it odd that one would choose such a phrase to describe himself," commented Glenn. "But pleased to meet ye." he shook Bacca's hand. "But alas, I must be leaving." Glenn dropped off his stool and began to head out of the bar. "You just got here. Come, help us battle the moogles." Glenn thought for a moment, then he shook his head. "Nay. I was disbanded from the Guardian Knights long ago, and I shall never serve under another ruler again." Bacca sighed. Glenn left the campus shortly after. He didn't say goodbye to anyone. * * * * * * * "Princess, would you mind explaining to us why we're on this absurd quest?" "Because that weird fuzzball was looking me over. That's why." said Alena in annoyance. "Look, all we gotta do is find a guy with a pair of knockers and we're free." "But princess, what about Necrosaro?" asked Christo. Alena stopped. "This is stupid. But right now we have no choice." she said. "So let's find this asshole and get moving." They trekked on.
