The Norland capital, still in some aspect of ruin from the recent assaults
it had recieved, was again as normal. Children sparred in alleys, adults
worked the fields, soldiers marched, and the king brooded.

Further north of the castle was Frioniel's cabin. He had been there since
the attack, the disgusting failure of Norland to defend itself.

Nera rode up on her chocobo. She dismounted the bird by the stream, where
it
quickly went to drinking the clean mountain water. She strolled up to the
cabin and knocke don the door.

"Go away." said a rather stern voice.

"Frioniel, it's me, Nera."

A slight pause, and then, after what seemed like an eternity, the door
opened. Nera looked at Frioniel with a bit of interest. He was bare chested
and almost completely naked except for a loincloth that was obviously
hastily put on. His arms were swollen. In the backdrop books were piled
everywhere whilst further back a set of weights were resting.

"May I... come in?"

Frioniel nodded and stepped aside. Nera strolled in and sat down at the
desk
with an open book.

"I've been researching." he started. "Aside from this humiliation, Norland
has only one other recorded defeat, several thousand years ago."

Nera nodded.

"Thousands of years of glory, yet we cannot defeat an assault from the air.
We were betrayed by our own holy symbol... Bacca spare us."

Nera sighed.

"So, what exactly are you doing about it?"

Frioniel looked up.

"Preparing. Hiryuu defeated me within seconds. If I am to defeat him, I must
be stronger than him. I must be more knowledged. I must be in all ways
superior to him."

"And when you are?"

"I will anihilate him."
