Thanatos examined the scene.

Just last night, hours ago, he had battled something that in all seriousness
should have killed him with the equivalent effort of lifting a small
child.

He already felt the familiar breath breathing upon him. He was coming.

Celeste, Burdock and Brian were also about, trying to figure out what had
happened.

Thanatos sighed. Even dieties had their limits. THe question was that if
Thanatos would be able to call upon the Dark Eternal when the real problem
arrived. Since Godzilla liked to travel by foot and probably would be
bringing a few minions with him, that gave Thanatos about a day and a half
to get to Sanctuary.

Of course, in this instance he was unable to teleport. Godzilla had,
naturally, removed any means of teleportation on this planet before he
stepped out, meaning Thanatos would have to do the journey on foot.

"So, methinks that the situation has become a wee bit worse, lali?" grumbled
Burdock as he examined the remains of Kefka and the smoldering pit that had
just served as a focal point for the energies of evil. It'd be a miracle if
anything ever grew there again.

"I suggest you three find a means of tracking Aracalen. If Arcanis and Lia
are gone, you three are the only people who have a chance at keeping up
with him."

"Well what about you?" grumbled Brian. "You beat up Kefka, killing Aracalen
right now shouldn't be too difficult."

"It's not that simple." grumbled Thanatos. "I have a code of honour that
prevents me from overlly influencing mortal affairs, and I have already
overstepped that."

Brian Pizzuti spat.

"Dork Lord."

Thanatos merely glared at him.

"Suit yourself. I need to get to Sanctuary. You three should heed my
warning."

"Uhhh... wait a moment here." cut in Celeste. "You helped us back there. Now
it's our turn to repay the favour."

"You, of all people should be backing away from this quest." grumbled
Thanatos.

"Look." snarled Celeste, cutting in closer to Thanatos. "We're coming along,
and helping you out. Now, if you want to kill the people who's lives you
just saved, that's fine, but I doubt even the Lord of Darkness would stoop
to that low."

"Woah, what's all this 'we' stuff?" cut in Brian. "I think we should shadow
Aracalen. The way he was running away last night, I think that we could
take him if need be."

"Go fuck yourself, boy." grumbled Burdock. "Besides, what about the way
*YOU* shit yourself twice and ran like a donkey, lali?"

Celeste snickered.

"Aracalen isn't going to be too far. Logic would dictate they attacked us
for a reason, and now Aracalen's lost these." she held up the pair of
Crystals that were found near Kefka's remains. "So, I'd say we have him by
the balls."

"Ewwww..." grumbled Brian.

"Get over it." snarled Thanatos. "Fine, if you're coming, you'd better be
prepared to keep up a good pace. We leave for Sanctuary right now."

And with that, Thanatos started off in a very fast paced march. The rest of
the band quickly followed, rather curious as to what they were getting
into.
