Rydia mumbled curses to herself quietly, drawing strange looks from the
people she passed. Of course they never expected such language from a
child, but then Rydia only looked like a child.

It had been several hours since she had been seperated from Arcanis.
Still not comfortable around the Esper, she hadnt thought twice about it
untill only about an hour ago. She was content to roam the city on her
own, finding fun, and trouble, where she could. Unfortunatly for her it
was very quiet today.. She hadnt found either.

Finally making up her mind, she started walking back towards the Inn.
Thinking that the other Harem members that were along on this journey
would congregate there at some point or other.

Plus there were beds there. In a town this boring, sleep was about the
only thing to do.

She wandered down a side street, her green cloak swooshing quietly
behind her. Something catching her eye, she turned her head and looked
into a shop window.

It was a little shop, not specializing in anything really. From the
looks of the outside it was more of a cafe then anything else. But it
did have a small selection of jewlery. More importantly, part of is
small selection of jewelery had green stones.

Always being a sucker for anything green, Rydia stepped inside and took
a closer look, grinning to herself, and imagining meeting back up with
Pyxie wearing several peices.

She looked over them closely, some of them were nice, but for the most
part it was of low quality.

Rydia sighed to herself. Ever since her hometown was destroyed by the
manipulation of Zemus she just hadnt been able to get too too
enthusiastic about anything. Even more so since the old man at the Bar
'The End of Time' forced her into this childish body.

'At least I can break out of it when I need to..' she thought to
herself.

The discovery had been made only recently. When she stumbled apon to the
Mist Dragon, apparently acting upon the last wishes of Rydias mother.
She had defeated the dragon, thus completing the ritual which bound it
to her. Enabling her to summon the fearsome creature when she needed to.

Rydia's attention snapped back to reality abruptly. She listened
carefully to try to figure out what it was that alerted her.

'Yah.. I tell you.. whoever was able to take down _that_ many of those
thugs must be a fearsome sight indeed. I heard he was 10 feet tall and
had glowing red eyes!' One villager spoke nervously to another.

'Bah, dont belive everything you hear,' said another, 'My cousin Aerfis
saw the person from his shop window, running from the rest of the thugs,
20 feet tall if an inch,' He continued, 'with scaley black skin and
horns that would make your wife think twice about harrassing him!' The
last part was obviosly meant as a joke.

Rydia didnt bother to listen to the rest. Knowing generaly where the two
had been talking about, she left the shop and headed there. There was
only one person who could find trouble more easily then her, and that
was Pyxie.

Rounding a corner and looking into the alleyway she was taken aback at
the bodies lying around. Some of which were obviously dead, but most
were just unconcious, left there thier commerades who had obviously left
the scene from the looks of the alley.

Stepping lightly between the prone forms, the tried to peice together
what had happened.

Almost immediatly she stumbled upon Pokey, knocked out cold and laying
in a pool of someoen elses blood.

Sighing slightly, she knew that she couldnt leave him here long enough
to get help. The thugs who had done this might be back soon to pick up
thier friends.

Slipping her arms under Pokeys she started the hard task of draging him
back to the in. Cursing her child-form even more each time she had to
rest, she managed to get him away from the scene of the fight before
anyoen else came by.

She almost had him to one of the larger streets of the city when she
heard lovliest sound she had ever heard. Hortian and Bix's constant
stream of friendly bickering.

Rydia shouted out to them, getting thier attention, and between the 3 of
them they managed to get Pokey back to the Inn..
