From: "His Dark Lordship" To: "ffml" ; "Hillion Dynasty" Subject: [ffml] [HD] Hope on either ends of the spectrum Date: Friday, July 13, 2001 7:56 PM Saal-dor rested under a tree. Aracalen had done it. He had slain them. All of them, he said. Saal-dor had fairly mixed emotions over what had transpired. He had insisted Aracalen slay the baby lizar, the rest was up to him. He returned, and said he had slain them all. The threat was now gone, the evidence of Thanatos' neglegence, but the pain was still there. Saal-dor, for the first time in his life felt as if he had taken a life that did not deserve to be taken. This in itself struck him as odd. Every being he had slain up until this point had been in the service of God, that is, Thanatos. Now, for the first time, he had slain on his own, organized the deaths of those who would imbalance his plans, and forged an unholy alliance with one that could serve an advantage whilst weakening him at the same time. This was the stuff of legend among his people and the other minions of darkness. This was the stuff God was famous for; Playing mortals and eliminating rising threats. What bothered him, then, must have been the lack of cosmic response to his actions. During Thanatos' reign, Saal-dor had dispatched no less than twelve young heroes, and he was more than aware of others who had slain at least triple that. How would Thanatos know of such prophecies. Under his service, Saal-dor had found and elminiated Holy weapons that had potential to give Thanatos a headache. How was he to know where they were himself? How was he to see the assaults on his regime? He supposed that this is what drew him instinctively to Aracalen. They had travelled slowly, mainly due to the ever presence of Azala's watchful eye. Saal-dor sighed. He had a lot to learn about his newly chosen life. He wondered what Azala was thinking right now... * * * * * * * * * Azala lowered the bone telescope and sighed. "The fool does not realize that there is naught in our power to stop him." "Azala..." cut in Nizbel. "Yes?" "We have recieved reports that several others have recently infiltrated our realm, including our old friend Blackthorne, Prince of Ishra." "Ishra, hmm? What do we know of their purpose?" "It is known that they also are bound for crystal peak, as was revealed by their source of transport." "Then we shall leave them." "Azala, if we were to eliminate them, perhaps that would deter Aracalen." "Yes, but then he would return here, for whatever piece they have that holds this puzzle together, and then, he would discover his advantage over us. Naye, the best we can do is hope, and wait." "With respect, Azala..." cut in Nizbel. "That has never been our approach before." Azala turned and looked at Nizbel. The giant brute stood there, motionless, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. Azala nearly slapped himself. All this time, he was weighing around what he could do to stop Aracalen from doing this, but he never found a means. He had given up, believing his service to Godzilla had ended ultimately in failure. But this, this slight glimmer among his closest ally made him think. He formed a toothy grin. "You don't give yourself enough credit, Nizbel." he said. He turned and looked at the remaining amount of wine he had been working on for the past week. He concentated on moving it to his hand. In an instant, it was. He finished the bottle and tossed it behind him. "Let us go to the ancient library. Certainly there something was documented on the follies of Hillion." Nizbel nodded. The pair quickly left the throne room and palace in the quiet of the night. -- The eternal lord of darkness...
