Date: Sunday, June 17, 2001 11:46 PM The Aurora Borealis dance across the sky, and in front of him. Geshtar wandered about the forest, trying to figure out where he was. It had been night for almost four days now, he figured. Some strange, cold, white powder had covered the ground. It was all quite unpleasant. He darted around a tree, then he heard a groan. Turning around, he saw someone impaled on the tree. It was Celeste, lying there, on the last throes of life. She looked at him and smiled. Then, she started to cackle. Geshtar snarled in fear and turned. He began to run. This was too much. Way too fucking much. He ran and ran, until he felt as if he could run no more, and he still ran. The forest never seemed to end. Finally, he fell over. Everything went black. * * * * * * * "Geshtar? Geshtar! Wake up!" The voice penetrated the darkness. Slowly, he opened his eyes. He was in a clearing. Brian Pizzuti was sitting across from him, reading through a klingon dictionary. He looked up. "Ah, you're awake. Well, I hope you're well rested. After you went into that Coma I was forced to carry you across an entire ocean, to a far away land you've never been to. "Excuse me?" Suddenly, Brian was not there anymore. Geshtar looked around him. The clearing was surrounded by the dark woods he had been in before. He never remembered reaching a clearing, though. He heard a giggle behind him. "Welcome!" He whirled about. Two tiny sprites were sitting there, giggling their heads off. "Welcome to the valley!" "Welcome to the forest!" "Welcome to the ravine!" "Welcome to your home!" "Who the hell are you people?" snarled Geshtar. They both began to laugh uncontrollably. Then they both sat up. "Uh oh, here he comes.." "You'd better get ready!" They both began laughing again and scurried off into the woods. "What..." Suddenly, something crashed into Geshtar, knocking him to the ground. Geshtar looked up. Before him stood another lizar, except this lizar's skin was pure black, and it seemed to blend into the darkness around it. "Defend yourself." it snarled. Geshtar rose up and looked at it. Before he had a chance to react, the black lizar lunged at him, slashing him across the chest with his claw, causing Geshtar to fall to the ground, bleeding profusely. He screeched in agony. The form stood over him. "Who are you?" Geshtar snarled. "Who are you?" it asked again. Geshtar once again snarled. The black lizar kicked Geshtar, it's sickle claw cut him open again. "Who are you?" Geshtar snarled again. The pain was unbearable. The black lizar grasped him by the neck and pulled him to his feet. Geshtar fought to avoid falling over again. The figure looked at him. "Who are you?" Geshtar spat blood onto the ground. The black lizar slashed him across the face. Geshtar stumbled back. "Who are you?" Geshtar gasped, and felt his face. The blood was flowing at an alarming rate. He would bleed to death soon. He would never go down alone, however. He snarled and lept at the black lizar, clasping his teeth around it's face. His claws dug deep into it's flesh, and it fell to the ground. He backed off. It had several amazing gashes in it, yet it still stood up. It looked at him through it's one good eye. "Who are you?" Rage filled Geshtar's insides. He swung at the black lizar's face, ripping out it's remaining eye and a considerable amount of flesh. The bone on half it's face was exposed, yet it merely stood there. "Who are you?" Geshtar couldn't take it. He finally roared. "I am Geshtar." "We are making progress." grumbled the black lizar. "But you obviously are unaware of who you are." "I am Geshtar." "Yes, yes, that you are. But what else are you?" Geshtar stood silent. Finally, he came up with something else. "I am a hunter." "And?" "...." "And?" "I have just lost my home, and my family." "And?" Geshtar swung at the black lizar again, but this time it raised it's hand and caught his arm. "You had best figure this out soon. The coma you are in will soon lapse into death if you are not careful." Geshtar looked at him oddly. "I don't understand." The black lizar sighed. "Alright, here is a different way of viewing things." Suddenly, Geshtar stood in a dark room. A balcony stood across from him, overlooking a red sky. A strange circular symbol covered the floor. On a throne created from the jaws of a dragon sat a black lizar, clad in black robes. From his snout portruded a small horn. On each side of him knelt a young, purple haired maiden. "My daughters." said the black lizar. Then, a figure entered. He had sharp features, and the same purple hair. He was tall and muscular. He had a flowing, black cape. "My son." He then looked at Geshtar. "Who are you?" Geshtar remained silent for a time. "I do not know." he finally uttered. "Do you really?" "I do not know." The figure chuckled. "And do you wish to know?" "Yes." "Then awaken, and look in the cabin. Behind the tome 'Korealakebeth' you shall find your identity." Suddenly, he was lying in a bed, looking up at the Northern Paladin's pudgy face. "Finally woke up, huh?" Geshtar rose out without saying anything. He walked over to the bookshelf, barely standing, and examined it. He looked for a tome that said Korealakebeth, and pulled it out. There was a scroll pressed against the back of the shelf. He grasped it. Brian looked at him oddly. Geshtar walked over to the desk as the bookshelf collapsed into dust. He unravelled the scroll. His eyes began to read the familiar writing. To the one who finds this note, If you are reading this, then you have come of age, and I am dead. Since I am unable to see you, I shall explain these circumstances to you on here. I have long awaited my death, and, like I said before, if you are reading this, I have finally attained my death. But, my saga has not ended yet. You see, there is a place, called Sanctuary, where my powers reside. You are, quite simply, the only person capable of claiming these powers. Should the desire to become a god come to you, you should journey to Sanctuary and attain the divine status. However, I shall warn you now. Godhood is a terrible thing. Your soul shall become quenched with sorrow and grief, and despite your powers to influence world affairs, you will find that all except yourself will eventually die, and leave you to yourself. It is a sad fact that some things come with too high a price. Nonetheless, I am making these facts available to you, as it is your divine right to follow in my footsteps if you should so choose to, as you are... my son. In the words of the fallen, Thanatos, Lord of Darkness Geshtar examined the note, then the other side, which he saw to be a map. He sighed. Millions of thoughts ran through his head, but one thought remained above all. "Brian, that thing that appeared, that is what killed Mom and Burdock, and leveled this valley?" "Yes..." said Brian with a bit of a shudder. "Gather your things. We leave for the ports of the Reptite Empire tommorrow." He walked off, leaving Brian sitting there. "W...WHAT!?!" he gulped. "GEEEESHTARRRR!" he yelled as he ran after him. -- The eternal lord of darkness...
